OSPIZIO
Theatre Anon’s next project will take place at the Ospizio site in Floriana on the 5, 8, 9, 12, 13 and 14 July as part of the Malta Arts Festival 2010.
Ospizio’s story is derived from the history of the site and the spectacular production promises to be a fun theatrical experience.
Ospizio by Theatre anon is commissioned by the Malta Arts Festival.
The festival functions within the Malta Council for Culture & the Arts.

GHANAFEST – FOLK MUSIC FESTIVAL

An amazing 3-day festival of Mediterranean folk music. Besides Maltese folksongs, there will be a number of folk groups, Maltese songwriters and musicians from neighbouring Mediterranean countries. This festival hosts several workshops and a special programme for children – with traditional Maltese food and the beautiful surroundings of the Argotti Botanical Gardens in Floriana.

The Gran Castello Summer Nights 2010

The Gozo Cultural Office within the Ministry of Gozo will be presenting, yet again, a series of events being launched by the name of Gran Castello Summer Nights 2010.
The Programme will include dance, music, drama, folklore and open-air screening.
This summer festival, which is being staged at the unique ruins of the Gozo Citadel, will feature the unique backdrop of the Gozo Cathedral Belfry.
The inaugural night will be on Wednesday 23rd June 2010 and the theme will be ‘Hgejjeg ta’San Gwann’ (St John’s Feast bonfires). This will be an exciting evening filled with local traditions, such as, folklore, music, drama and local cuisine – on other nights local choirs, bands, instrumental soloists, dance companies and drama groups will be featured.
There will be eight Fridays of summer evenings of entertainment in all: one in June, two in July, three in August and two in September.

SPORTS AND CULTURAL FESTIVAL @ THE WORLD CUP VILLAGE

Maltese Talent and the stars of the football world cup join together at Manoel Island this June and July. Passionate crowds and an electric atmosphere, along with a hugely varied daily entertainment programme are all prepared for Malta’s first World Cup Village.
Entrance to the Village is FREE and is in collaboration with the Parliamentary Secretariat of Youths and Sport and the Kunsill Malta ghall-isport (KMS). It offers the public a unique mix of sport performances, world cup matches on mega LED screens and a remarkable, unique line up from the entertainment industry every day from the 11th June to the 11th July.
Artistes, singers, comedians and performers will perform every night, making the World Cup Village venue the only place in Malta where everyone can enjoy a great show FREE. Singers such as Freddie Portelli, Chiara, Claudia Faniello, Lawrence Gray, Olivia Lewis, Greenfields, Mike Spiteri, Debbie Scerri, Ludwig Galea, Tony Camilleri and many, many others will alternate with bands, dancers, Clarinet Quartet, “Kittari & Ghana” and other performers such as Augusto Cardinale, Joe Demicoli, Tony Vella (Majsi) and a host of other favourite celebrities.
A detailed programme of the above events schedule will soon be posted to all households in Malta and Gozo.
The month long event is expected to attract huge crowds due to the entertainment programme and the crystal clear display of the Mega Screens.
There will also be a restaurant, bars, special offers during the football matches, shopping and entertainment arcades, specialised photo opportunities for all fans, face painting, caricatures, and last but not least, an opportunity for collectors to purchase souvenir stamp covers with a special World Cup Village cancellation stamp.
Patrons can also avail themselves to a very convenient transport taxi arrangement to and from the Village at €3.00 per person/€5.00 return from anywhere in Malta.
