Melita Trains. Train tour service - Rabat / Mtarfa / Mdina

A trackless train tour service that departs from a terminus next to the Domus Romana outside Mdina. The tour provides an informative commentary on the historical, cultural and architectural importance of the areas of Rabat, Mtarfa and the outskirts of Mdina. The sightseeing tour’s duration is 30 minutes with an eight-kilometre route passing adjacent to Mdina through Rabat into Ghar Barka and the heart of Mtarfa. The trains proceeds downhill from Mtarfa with panoramic views of Mdina, passing over the bridge close to the Old Railway Station and then up the steep hill next to Mdina’s fortifications through Greek Gate Tunnel and back to the terminus.
