WHY POCKET MALTA

PocketMalta is the first item most tourists and visitors are given as soon as they land in Malta, a lively, up-to-date guide on what to do while on the Maltese islands.

Combining in-depth writing with great photography and modern design, the magazine follows the islands as they change through the seasons, pointing out places to visit, exciting events and the vibrant life that flows through the islands all year through.

From people and traditions to the seasons and events, from the capital’s cultural and artistic life to what’s on in Gozo, PocketMalta attempts to unlock the islands’ moods and secrets. Written with the insight and knowledge of locals, the articles include a balance of well-known sites and off-the-beaten track suggestions, making it a valuable pocketbook to dip into again and again.

FORMAT

Printed in a handy compact format – around the size of a passport – PocketMalta is small and light enough for visitors to carry around during their stay in Malta, acting as a quick reference whenever tourists need ideas and suggestions on where to visit, dine or shop.

TARGET AUDIENCE

PocketMalta is aimed specifically at tourists, visitors and travellers to the islands; specifically, tourists arriving in Malta aboard a long list of international airlines that fly to Malta regularly throughout the year. This means that unlike, for instance, advertising in newspaper magazines, PocketMalta is channelled specifically towards a target audience, allowing you to derive greater focus and value-added from your advert. Also, its distribution is spread out daily throughout the month, reaching a broader range of passengers.

CIRCULATION

Around 25,000 copies of PocketMalta are printed every month, always up-to-date with articles targeted specifically towards particular seasons and events.

DISTRIBUTION

PocketMalta is distributed to tourists on a complimentary basis as soon as they land in Malta. Tourists pick up the magazine as soon as they walk down the stairs of the aircraft and board the airport coach, waiting to transport them to the airport terminal. There are PocketMalta dispensers inside each of the airport coaches owned by Globeground Malta, one of two companies handling airlines at Malta’s international airport. In the case of Ryanair and Easyjet, Pocket Malta is given to each arriving passenger by hand, prior to entering the terminal.

PocketMalta is distributed to passengers traveling on Ryanair, Easyjet, Emirates Airlines, Austrian Airlines, to mention a few. There are around 30 other airlines besides these, all of which are handled by Globeground Malta at Malta’s international airport. A full list of the airlines on which PocketMalta is distributed is printed below.

The magazine is also distributed through all the Tourist Information Centres of the Malta Tourism Authority, including the one at the Valletta Waterfront, and through other select outlets.
